Youth Specialist - Full time

Description: The Youth Specialist provides direct supervision of at-risk youth who have a range of emotional needs and is responsible for assuring each child is physically and emotionally safe. The Youth Specialist works within a team environment, helping residents and their families problem-solve and work toward positive change in their lives. This is a potentially stressful environment but a very worth-while missional position.

 

Requirements: High School diploma or GED, Bachelor's degree in a Human Services area preferred.  One year of experience will be preferred when combined with High School or GED completion. Applicants should have good moral character and emotional stability.  Valid Michigan driver’s license and good driving record required.

 



On-Call Youth Specialist - Part Time

Description: The On-Call Youth Specialist provides direct supervision of at-risk youth who have a range of emotional needs and is responsible for assuring each child is physically and emotionally safe. The On-Call Youth Specialist works within a team environment, helping residents and their families problem-solve and work toward positive change in their lives. This is a potentially stressful environment but a very worth-while missional position. Because this is an On-Call position, candidates must be able to fill open shifts/positions as needed. This part-time position could lead to full time employment.

 

Requirements: High School diploma or GED, Bachelor's degree in a human services area preferred. One year of experience will be preferred when combined with High School or GED completion. Food Service Worker - Part Time

Location: Eagle's Nest

 

Supervisor: Kathy Bailey

 

Position Summary: Assists in the preparation, delivery and presentation of meals. Works with and directs resident helpers. Must be able to multi-task and function in a demanding, fast paced environment under significant pressure at certain times. This position does not have a regular schedule and flexibility in working all shifts is required.

 

Requirements: High school completion or GED. Nine months to one year experience and training in food service preferred. Valid Michigan driver's license and good driving record.

 


 


Transporter - Part Time

 

Hours: Vary

 

Location: Eagle Village

 

Description: Transporters provides direct supervision of the youth under their care. Transports youth and families for a variety of reasons such as home visits, doctor appointments, family weekends, etc. for both the Residential and Foster Care departments. This on-call hourly, non-exempt position is directly responsible to the Family Living Services Coordinator.

 

Requirements : High school completion or GED, three to nine months experience preferred.Good moral character, valid Michigan driver’s license and good driving record.  
 
 
 

 


Aquatics Officer

 

Hours: Full Time Contractual, Temporary

 

Location: Eagle Village Camp & Retreat Center

 

Description: The Aquatics Director is responsible for the coordination and implementation of all aquatic activities that take place during summer camp and to help out as needed in various camp program areas.

 

Requirements : High school completion or GED, one to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid certified or able to certify on own before contract begins. Valid Michigan drivers license and good driving record.
 
 

 


Camp Health Officer

 

Hours: Full Time Contractual, Temporary

 

Location: Eagle Village Camp & Retreat Center

 

Description: The Camp Health Officer will properly care for daily medical needs of all campers and camp staff and respond to any emergency that may occur.

 

Duties will include but are not limited to review of camper files for health concerns, orientation week health screens, daily maintenance of health center for campers and staff, First Aid administration, health and safety reviews as well as accurate and timely documentation of all related activities and occurances.

 

Requirements : Minimum of 21 years of age. High school diploma or GED. Prefer Graduate Nurse or Registered Nurse or one year of experience in related field. Prefer lifeguard certification. On-site Health Officer minimally certified in ARC First Aid Responding to Emergencies, CPR for the Professional Rescuer and CPI or able to certify on own before contract begins. Out-trip Health Officer certified in Wilderness First Responder, CPR for the Professional Rescuer and CPI or able to certify on own before contract begins. Michigan drivers license and good driving record.
 
 

 


Camp Counselor in Training

 

Hours: Full Time Contractual, Temporary

 

Location: Eagle Village Camp & Retreat Center

 

Description: The Counselor in Training lives with and supervises groups of campers to help each camper adjust to group living and provide leadership and guidance to assigned cabin groups. This position assists the Camp Counselor with activities and teaching modules as well as program support and lifeguard assistance.

 

Requirements : Minimum of 16 years of age. Must have worker permit.  Michigan drivers license and good driving record.
 
 

 


Camp Host

 

Hours: Full Time Contractual, Temporary

 

Location: Eagle Village Camp & Retreat Center

 

Description: The Camp Host is the primary contact with client groups during the duration of their stay at the Eagle Village Camp & Retreat Center. This Host is the liaison who provides initial greeting, information, daily activity direction and will address any needs each group has. Should be friendly, efficient and polite individual who is able to meet all the needs of a client group with a superior customer services attitude.

 

Requirements : High school diploma or GED. Prefer some knowledge of camp licensing requirements.  First Aid and CPR certified or able to certify on own before contract begins. Michigan drivers license and good driving record.
 
 

 


Wilderness Trip Leader

 

Hours: Full Time Contractual, Temporary

 

Location: Eagle Village Camp & Retreat Center

 

Description: The Wilderness Trip Leader serves as a positive role model and assumes full responsibility of staff and youth on trips. This leader will teach essential wilderness skills to campers and train staff in experientail philosophy, backcountry skills and other components of wilderness programming.

 

Requirements : High school diploma or GED. College degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.  First Aid and CPR certified or able to certify on own before contract begins. Michigan drivers license and good driving record.
 
 

 


Wilderness Instructor

 

Hours: Full Time Contractual, Temporary

 

Location: Eagle Village Camp & Retreat Center

 

Description: The Wilderness Instructor serves as a positive role model and assumes full responsibility of the campers within assigned group. This instructor will provide constant supervision of youth in assigned group, model and teach campers how to live in community with others and respect one another. Instructor will also encourage campers to take ownership of their individual responsibilities as well as their responsibilities to the group.

Requirements : High school diploma or GED. College degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.  First Aid and CPR certified or able to certify on own before contract begins. Michigan drivers license and good driving record.
 
 

 


Camp Counselor 

 

Hours: Full Time Contractual, Temporary

 

Location: Eagle Village Camp & Retreat Center

 

Description: The Counselor provides leadership and guidance while living with and supervising a group of campers to help each youth adjust to group living. This Counselor directs constructive activities that challenge campers to respect one another, give attention to promptness and personal responsibility, build character and maturity and learn healthy boundries and risks.

 

Requirements : High school diploma or GED. One to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. First Aid and CPR certified or able to certify before contract begins. Michigan drivers license and good driving record.
