Eagle Village seeks loving and responsible adults to match with children from birth to age 17. Some of these children have medical or educational needs requiring special services.
Foster Care families are licensed and work as part of a treatment team by providing a family living situation and a goal-oriented living experience for the child.
Foster Care homes provide services for children who have been neglected, abused or have a beginning history of delinquency and are at risk of harm or increasing problems if left in the home and community.
The strength and emphasis of the program is to work with families in establishing permanency for children (reunification of the home, placement with a relative, adoption or independent living).
Prospective Foster Parents must:
- Have a nurturing approach to child rearing
- Be willing to participate in training
- Be able to work as a team with social workers, therapists, biological parents, schools and agencies
- Be between the ages of 21-65
- Can be either single or married
- Must meet state requirements for foster home licensing
Thousands of kids need foster care. Some of the children Eagle Village accepts for foster care are emotionally impaired and require counseling. Cases are individually considered based on the availability of an appropriate home. Foster parents and Eagle Village staff work together with the biological family in assisting the child with his/her specific needs and strengths.
