Who We Are and What We Do
Eagle Village is the Michigan Works! youth services provider for the West Michigan area. We assist people ages 16 - 21 assist the youth improve their educational achievement, prepare for success in employment, develop leadership skills, and find paid work experience. Youth advisors work with schools and local employers to provide these services.
Success!
Success means different things to different people. Recently, two individuals were able to attain their idea of success with the help of their local Michigan Works! Youth program.
Amanda Smith and 24 other individuals across the state received recognition at the 2011 Michigan Works! Alumni Celebration held in Lansing on January 25. The celebration recognized these 25 individuals from across the state for working with their local Michigan Works! to gain employment. In a time when competition is fierce in the job market, job seekers will do what they can to make themselves stand apart from the competition – or at least ensure they are on the same playing field. For one young man in Mecosta, the chance to rise above the competition was going to be tough. Eligibility

- Must be a resident of Osceola, Mecosta, Newaygo, Lake or Mason counties
- Must be determined low income (verification will be required)
- In need of work experience based on previous work history or lack of work
- Must be between the ages of 16 - 21

Services Offered to Eligible Participants
Employment Services
- Short-term work experience
- Long-term job placement
- Internship opportunities
Educational Assistance
- Obtain employer recognized credential
- GED or high school completion funding
- Assistance with college costs such as tuition and books
- Short-term occupational training (ex: Nurse Aid certification)
Citizenship and Leadership Services
- Career Planning
- 7 Habits for Highly Effective Teens
Required Performance Outcomes
All training services must meet the required performance outcomes of :
- Employed full time upon completion of training
- Retention of employment for no less than one year after training
- Completion of employer recognized credentials
