Dear Prayer Partners,
For the last five weeks or so, my 15-year-old son has been caring for some friends’ chickens and ducks while they are traveling out of the country. But this is no ordinary pet-sitting job. Our friends have more than 50 precious birds that require careful attention and feeding twice a day, every day.
This is a huge responsibility, and one that Nathan has taken very seriously. In fact, before they left, they told him that they would not have decided to take this trip if they didn’t have him to look after their flock.
At Eagle Village, we take very seriously the responsibility we have been entrusted with too: to care for hurting youth and families in their time of desperate need. Whether in our residential or foster care programs, or participating in one of our camps, we seek to provide for them a safe and nurturing environment, both physically and spiritually.
1 Peter 5:2 says, “Care for the flock that God has entrusted to you. Watch over it willingly, not grudgingly—not for what you will get out of it, but because you are eager to serve God.”
As you pray for Eagle Village this month, would you pray especially for our staff and volunteers? Pray that they would wholeheartedly embrace the opportunity God has given us to serve and care for this important part of His flock.
As always, we’re thankful for your partnership and prayers!
